When unhooking your manifold gauges you have a bunch of liquid trapped in that hose. Do it the right way by sweeping that liquid back into the low side by using your gauge as a metering device. Purge all gauges and then open the hi side manifold to move the refrigerant into the yellow hose. Purge that yellow hose. Then SLOWLY open the low side and allow the liquid to flash into the suction line.,
